I don't have the 24-70 but I do have a 24-105 on a 6D Mark II along with a filter (when in the rain). Recently I got caught in more rain than I'd like and there were no problems. Having said that, while it was raining hard I kept the lens retracted and the camera out of direct rain. It still got soaked.
